Pilot Episode: VERMILION

Expressing your love and expressing your passion are not the same thing.
For one die hard fan...
Death is not enough.

VERMILION is the pilot episode of Space Officer Triggs, a new sci-fi/crime webcomic series which explores why people - no matter who they are or where they're from - will do what they must to achieve their inner most, and often, devious desires.

The episode will launch right here, next week, 26th October 2011.

Rating: 16+ - contains alcohol and drug use, moderate language and graphic violence

VERMILION release date

VERMILION, the pilot episode of Space Officer Triggs, will be released online on the 26th October.

Believe me, if there are two things I am looking forward to the most this year - it is the release of this comic and the film, Ra.One. So, why not make this day even more special and celebrate the two releases together?

That said, a week before the comic is out, on the 19th October, the cover to the comic will be unveiled.

Updates are to be weekly for the first 5 weeks. After that, I cannot promise how frequently they will be, but they should not be too long apart, with the help of God.

This comic will be experimental through the course of it. This is, after all, a pilot. Some pages may look different depending on what hand I'll need to draw with, etc.

That said - I am extremely looking forward to sharing this first, full length comic of Space Officer Triggs, and I hope you will all enjoy it.

~omake arcade~ - free download!

Almost a year ago, the first ever Triggs comic - a (really) short collection of strips - was published, with a precious 14 copies only ever printed.

4 for family, 10 exclusively sold at the first Nom-Con event.

And now, everyone can read them... and for free.

Aw yeah, Space Officer Triggs ~omake arcade~, now available for free download!
Just click here to download! :'D

You'll need Adobe Reader to read it though - just head here if you don't have it -> http://get.adobe.com/reader/

In other news, Nom-Con is fast approaching! August 5th-7th. Unfortunately, this year, I cannot make the event. However, Zenpop issue 5 will be available at the event - the issue where (hopefully, if all goes to plan) you can see an exclusive first look at VERMILION. So far, two pages are complete. I'm hoping for perhaps the first 5 pages to be previewed in the next issue. But I'm hopeful and working my hardest, despite complications, and with awesome help from my colourist HappyAggro, I think I'll pull it off. C:

I did have an ultimate online release date in mind... but it might be, in fact, brought back to an earlier date than what I was thinking of, if things keep going the way they are...

Anyway, that's it for now! Enjoy the comic! :'D

-omake arcade- digital download, now available! And now on Twitter!

You heard me! The Zenpop store is now up and running again, with it's newest addition Space Officer Triggs -omake arcarde- now available for only £1. It comes in a .PDF format which makes it so cheap, and plus, it's good for the environment (seeing as Earth Day just passed).

So head on over and grab a copy! Zenpop Issues 1 and 2 are available in this format too!

ALSO! Triggs now has his own Twitter. You can follow this blog's updates there, along with other odd bits of news perhaps too small to feature on the blog, and even tweets from Triggs himself.

VERMILION Main Cast Line Up

Alright, folks. We're starting to get a small bit serious now here.
So, here's to some concepts! :'D

Planning It Out

I have begun to storyboard the first Triggs short comic. I know ages ago I had announced a title for a story, and I had it's basic story set and everything. But really... it wasn't working. I ended up scrapping the idea. However, I may revisit aspects of it in future stories.

What I do have worked out is the format for this series. I'm not revealing it right now... but you'll understand once the comic itself has begun.

The thing is, due to school, portfolio class and my ongoing struggle with my painful arm, I am uncertain when the first story will be released. That being said, you won't have to wait for like, say, 2 pages a week/month or anything like that. I hope to release the short stories in their entirety: every single page of it uploaded to the net in one shot. This may take longer, but you'll be able to enjoy the stories a lot more this way. :) Once I have the first story fully finished, it is only then I will I announce a release date. I don't want to set unrealistic dates and expectations.

I will however try to write a short maybe 2 or 3 page comic for the next issue of Zenpop. With the way things are going, it may be another omake arcade.

Well, Mid-Term Break is next week. So I hope to get the storyboarding finished then and maybe even get a page started. Again, though, I ain't making promises. :)

Party time was excellent!!

So like... Nom-Con has been finished for nearly a week now. But because of time for re-cooperation and back to school shinanigans and birthday treats (X3), I didn't get a chance to upload some of the awesome shots of the comic and the beautiful merchandise at the Zenpop table.

Here's the Triggs comic itself... on the day I got them back from the printers.
With a sneaky preview >X3

And here are some of the shots from the Zenpop table itself!!!

All the beautiful Zenpimps that were there: =peachbite=JadeLaunders*minibubble*DustBunny-Studios*noncannonfireworks~7Sinns~Dandare-Rastaban

You were all so amazing! ;A; I'm so happy I got the chance to met you all!!

I wanna say a huge thanks to everyone who stopped at our table, asked for sketches and bought the Zenpop magazine and prints! And especially to those who supported and bought my Triggs comic. This really was a dream come true for me to sell a comic at an artist's alley at a convention. It was super~

Thank you. <3 It means the world to me.

R136a1 and mini comic for Nom-Con!

Wow, some awesome news today regarding astronomy. Astronomers have discovered a star that is 265 times more larger than our own Sun! In the Tarantula Nebula, neighbouring the Milky Way, lies R136a1, the largest star known to man. You can check out a sweet photograph of it here. Pretty amazing stuff that is.

Now, the first story in the Triggs comic series is still in a working progress, but until then, I've been asked by Zenpop to create a short comic to sell at Ireland's newest anime convention, Nom-Con, which takes place from the 27th -29th August in the D4 Hotels, Ballsbridge, Dublin. And so, I have begun work on a short omake Triggs comic, which will hopefully be on sale at the event!! It's still early days yet... but I think I can pull it off. XD I hope I'll be able to be there to see it sell if it does. If I am able to attend, it won't be for the whole weekend though. :( But I'll make sure I'll have some Triggs illustrations to sell there anyway! Among these will be n e w . a g e . m a n t r a, which is coming along nicely. XD So, come and say hi to the Zenpop team if your going! The group are fantastic and are doing a lot of brilliant work. Please support us!! ^_^;

That's all for now! Take care!
